WHEN THE PRESSURE OF FAILURE BEGAN
It reads,pray,mediate and confess the scriptures about my identity until they are firmly established my heart.when those truths are believed in my heart the grace of God will work in me able to live this new identity
Unfortunately,we look to other sources for identity we look to a denomination,organization on an individual for identity. our work is determined by how we measure up. Sometimes it is not even another person or organization . it is simply a standard of success that we have created in our own mind.
When we fail to measure up, we experience negative emotions. we assume those emotions are from unhappy father who is relating to us based on our behavior.we think we have failed God. then we begin to use abuse and manipulate people to accomplish the imposed standards of success ..the pressure of failure begins to weigh on a leader,he can become very negative demanding and destructive all in the name of "doing something for the lord".
When we identify with a person,concept or standard,that standards determines the image to which we will conform. we begin to become whatever we think it will take to please that person.therefore,we transform into the image of the one who is giving us our identity.
The minister who feels it is his job to get everybody holy, to heaven, to witness,or to do anything will assume the role of authoritarian.he will begin to feel the self imposed pressure of making people do right. since it is not my doing right that are causing him to fee frustrations and anger are vented towards the people.
While Jesus had love and compassion for the people we never assume the responsibility for their actions or reactions to truth. he stuck to his mission of proclaiming the good news he left the results to the father would not receive his message. it was not that he was not concerned,but he knew that he had one responsibility and that was to proclaim the good news about the kingdom. it was the responsibility of the hearer to respond.
